INJURY ASSESSMENT

Pain and injury can be debilitating and prevent you from doing the things you love to do, whether that is day-to-day tasks, work, hobbies, and/or sporting activities.

At RESTORE your session will consist of assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for your current injuries, whether they are new or longstanding.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage therapy is an excellent tool for athletes of all kinds, from elite athletes to weekend warriors and anything in between. The sports massage techniques are specific to the sport the athlete competes in, or the activities the individual has been doing, concentrating on sections of the body that are suffering from over use and that are stressed from repetitive and in many case aggressive sporting movements. Sports massage focuses on all soft tissues that are used in physical activity, including muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments. The massage corrects any imbalances or issues that have occurred through strenuous and repetitive activity, injury or even sustained periods of inactivity.

But you don’t have to play sport to get a sports massage, as each individual and their needs are tailored to create a specific treatment.

KINESIOLOGY TAPING

Kinesiology Tape is a stretchy, sticky, tape that’s applied to the skin to give light support and promote correct movement. This may help to ease pain and reduce swelling.

HELP RECOVERY
From ankle sprains to muscle strains, Kinesiology Tape can help. kinesiology tape might help improve circulation and reduce swelling in the area where you’re hurt, helping to ease pain. It may also improve circulation of lymphatic fluids. Lymphatic fluid is mostly water, but it also contains proteins, bacteria, and other chemicals. The lymphatic system is the way your body regulates swelling and fluid build-up.

LIGHT SUPPORT
When you don't want to excessively restrict movement but need light support and a gentle reminder, KINESIOLOGY TAPE is a flexible and comfortable choice.

FLEXIBLE PROTECTION
Kinesiology Tape can be used to provide an extra barrier of protection. It can remind your body to keep position and also act as a protective second skin when needed.

CUPPING

This ancient treatment method originates from traditional Chinese medicine. Silicone cups are used to create a vacuum on the surface of the skin. The silicone cup can then be left in place or be moved around on the skin for a deep massage treatment.

Cupping therapy promotes blood circulation, relieves pain, joint and muscle soreness, releases endorphins to promote general healing and wellbeing, and can help increase skin’s firmness.

DRY NEEDLING

Dry Needling provides a fast effective route to pain relief, through the use of fine needles inserted into trigger points in muscles.

The needles penetrate deep into specific areas within the muscles, to relieve tension and increase blood flow to the region. They can hit stubborn areas with precision, even when the source of pain seems to be buried deep and being inaccessible to massage. Relaxing these trigger points can release long held pain. Due to their exact anatomical location on nerve pathways, they can also reach the roots of referred pain.

Dry Needling can be used for conditions as:

• Muscle spasms and strains

• Acute and Overuse muscle injuries

• Repeated strain injuries

• Tension-type Headaches

• Neck & Back pain

• Sciatica

• Joint pain

• Plantar fasciitis

• Tendinopathy as Tennis Elbow, Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITB)

OSTEOPATHIC ARTICULATIONS

Osteopathic articulation is a manual therapy technique involving gentle, hands-on movements to restore joint mobility and reduce pain.

How it works:

  • By gently moving joints and muscles, osteopathic articulation aims to:
  • Restore joint movement and reduce pain.
  • Improve the body's natural lubricating system.
  • Increase range of motion.
  • Relieve muscle tension.
  • Enhance blood and nerve supply to tissues.
  • Improve circulation.
  • Help correct structural imbalances.
